|It is reported that some MPs of the country are getting aided from a voluntary organization funded by the Ford Foundation in USA to improve their parliamentary skills. The MPs are getting aid from the Delhi-based PRS Legislative Research. But PRS legislative research said that the Ford foundation is not directly funding the MPs but the MPs are getting backing from PRS who bagged the fellowship.
MPs are getting research assistance from PRS under the 'Legislative Assistance for Members of Parliament Fellowship' programme Floated with US-based Ford Foundation grant in 2005, PRS is currently supported by Ford Foundation and Google Foundation, among others, according to its website.
The beneficiaries are P Rajeev, MP PC Chacko MP, Jose K Mani MP CPM MP from Bengal Moinul Hassan, are getting regular inputs to improve their parliamentary skills from the Delhi-based PRS Legislative Research.
PRS founder NR Madhavan said that MPs are not getting foreign aid . They are only helping the MPs to show good performance in parliametry affairs.
